Lead Assignment

Introduction
This article will cover the following use cases:

1. Create a Lead and Assign it to a co-worker
2. Create a Lead and Assign it to a Dealership
3. Create a Lead and Assign it to a specific Dealer Rep
4. Edit an existing Lead and Assign it to a Dealership
5. Edit an existing Lead and Assign it to a specific Dealer Rep
6. A Lead is created by a Web-to-Lead form with a Dealer ID

I would like to: Create a Lead and Assign it to a co-worker.

• Begin creating the Lead using the Mobile or Web App
  • Fill in the Primary User field. Select your corworker. 

Your coworker (the Primary User) will be set as a record follower.

Your coworker will receive a "Lead Assigned" notification -- coming soon

I would like to: Create a Lead and Assign it to a Dealership.

• Begin creating the Lead using the Mobile or Web App
  • Clear the Primary User field - it must be blank
  • Fill in the Assigned Dealer with the Dealership
  • Save the record

The System will automatically select a Dealer Rep from the Dealership and set them as the Primary User. 

Both you (the record modifier) and the Dealer Rep (the Primary User) will be set as followers. 

The Dealer Rep will receive a "Lead Assigned" notification -- coming soon

I would like to: Create a Lead and Assign it to a specific Dealer Rep.

  • Fill in the Primary User with the specific Dealer Rep.

• Begin Editing the existing Lead using the Mobile or Web App
  • Clear the Primary User field - it must be blank
  • Fill in the Assigned Dealer with the Dealership
  • Save the record

A Lead is created by a Web-to-Lead form with the Account External ID field.

In this scenario, the following steps will occur automatically:

1. The system searches for an Account with a matching External ID
2. If one is found:
   1. The Lead's Assigned Dealer is set to that Account
   2. The Lead's Primary User is set to one of the Dealership's Reps

The Dealer Rep (Primary User) will be set as a record Follower

The Dealer Rep will receive a "Lead Assigned" notification -- coming soon
