Creating a Crop Plan Group

Groups are combinations of Products that are proposed for a Grower/Farm/Fields.

There are two main types of Groups:

  • Quantity Groups: These are used when you want to order a specific quantity of a product (ex. "I need 5 tons of Lime")
  • Rate Groups: These are used when you want to order a quantity per acre of a product (ex. "I have 100 acres and need 50# of product per acre)

Quantity Groups:

A Quantity Group may optionally have a Farm associated with it. This can be used to calculate Splits or coordinate a delivery location.

See here for how to create a Quantity Group

Rate Groups:

Rate Groups have two sub-categories:

  • Standard Rate Group: These groups do not have Fields associated. You may enter any number of acres and all lines in this group will be calculated against that number.
  • Field Group: These groups have Fields associated. The system will add up their acres. You can override this by setting the Applied Acres.
Fields in a Field Group will be evaluated for Splits

See here for how to create a Rate Group

After Group(s) are specified, Products can then be added to the Groups.
